About

Mission & Mandate

Under the Chinar is an independent digital forum dedicated to rigorous, doctrinal, and critical inquiries at the intersection of constitutionalism, jurisprudence, and political theory.

While engaging with broader questions of comparative constitutional law, the platform places a central focus on Jammu & Kashmir-examining its unique constitutional history, asymmetric federalism, emergency jurisprudence, and the evolving dynamics between state power, civil liberties, and the citizen.

The project seeks to bridge the divide between academic treatises and real-time public commentary, offering long-form dispatches, critical legal analyses, and doctrinal interrogations.

Advisory & Editorial Board (In Formation):

The editorial charge is in the process of expanding to include an Advisory Council of Senior Advocates, legal academics, and veteran practitioners from the Jammu & Kashmir High Court and Bar.
